Jim is a native of Nebraska and received his B.S. and M.S. from the University of Nebraska and his Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas.

In 2006 Dr. Mitchell accepted a position as Poultry Nutritionist with Akey. Jim’s work is primarily focused on broiler and turkey accounts.

Prior to joining Akey, Dr. Mitchell worked as a private nutrition consultant to the turkey and broiler industry over the last twenty-two years.

Jim has also served as a nutritionist with two large turkey and broiler integrators.
