Dr. Paton received his Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky in 2001. Neil obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Natal in South Africa. His M.S. focused on the design and construction of a controlled environment research facility for broilers. Neil then worked in industry for an animal health company in their poultry sector. While enrolled at the University of Kentucky, his Ph.D. research modeled the transfer and movement of selenium in embryonated and hatching eggs. Neil has authored or co-authored more than 30 publications including scientific abstracts, invited talks and refereed publications.
Neil's current responsibilities at Akey include: providing design and statistical support for research trials; the coordination, statistical analysis and reporting of company research; and implementing NIR spectroscopy technology for North American Nutrition Companies.
Neil is a member of the American Society of Animal Science and serves on the Editorial Board of the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists Journal. |
